The answer might surprise you but Thomas Eye Center can see children as young as 6 months!

Of course no 6 months old will be able to tell us “Which is better, 1 or 2?” but this is a crucial time in your child’s vision development.  Getting an eye exam between the ages of 6 and 12 months will test for many things, including excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, eye movement ability and eye health problems.   Although eye health problems are not common, if present they are more easily corrected if treatment begins early.  Your child’s next examination should be around age 3 and then annually there after.

If vision correction is necessary for your infant, we have some great frame selections for you to pick from.  We carry the Miraflex line of children’s frames.  They are flexible, safe, and have many different shapes and colors to fit your child’s personality.  Not only will your child’s vision be improved with glasses, they are guaranteed to look adorable!  Who doesn’t love a baby in glasses?!
