Bifocals have a distinct line, and provide correction for two distinct distances. Typically, the top portion corrects for distance, and the bottom portion corrects for near.

Similar to bifocals, trifocals provide correction for three distinct distances. Typically, this would be for distance, computer or arm’s length, and reading. These lenses have a visible segmented line to separate the different focal lengths that the lenses correct for.
